To maintain excellent sailing performance we keep a classic mainsail, housed in a boom 'stackpack' system. Hoisting and lowering is simple and effective, no more dangling off the end of the boom or broken fingernails and bad language.
Manoeuverability is akin to the smallest Japanese car, and under power you will find yourself motoring along smoothly at around 7 knts.
However the best feature of all has to be the aft swim platform. This is not a ledge for precariously balancing on - it is about twice the size of that on similarly sized yachts and can double as extra deck space when you are sailing off the wind.
The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey range is by far the most successful design of charter yachts. It combines superior accommodation layout without compromising the powerful sailing performance.
